Prop size mistake?

Hi

I have a 2 stroke Yam 90 which had a damaged 13 1/4 X 17 K series prop on. I did some research on here and found Matt H suggested the best size was a 13 1/4 X 19. I ordered a new prop and when it arrived I realised that I had ordered a 13 X 19 K series prop.

My question is will there be a massive difference performance wise from a 13 1/4 to a 13? What is the actual difference between them as a quick search on ebay did not yield many 13 1/4 size props for sale. Most K series props seem to be 13?

Thanks guys

the 13 1/4 is the diameter of the prop, the 19 is the pitch, 1/4 " will be minimal performance wise compared to the pitch increase. It just means that you'll have a touch more clearance under the AV plate. Sometimes you need to drop a shade in diameter to accomodate the extra pitch anyway, that might be why it's a 13 & not 13 1/4.

Ah that makes sense now. I spotted an identical set up in the boat yard and that had a 13 1/4 on and the prop did indeed look closer to the trim tab/cav plate. Cheers Dave am much happier now as I'm sure 1/4 of an inch wont make much diffrence
