Sunday 7th March - Solent/ Yarmouth

As I will be back in 'Nestor' in a weeks time and the tides for the following weekend look good I'm wondering who may be up for the usual trip to Yarmouth for lunch ?

So far of the usual suspects Avocet (& scurvey crew) seem to be 'up for it'.

Anyone else for an early spring jaunt ?

Pete

Pete I should be OK for the 7th March what about a trip round the IOW with some lunch somewhere.

Im sure Avocet would be up for it

Weather permitting, I'd be up for a 'Round the Island' with lunch at, say, Ventnor where HT is at 3.30 pm on the Sunday which should give access to the harbour over the lunch period (although I'm not sure of the drying height of the entrance to calculate times exactly!). A clockwise trip should give Pete enough time to get back into Christchurch (HT also about 3.30 pm?) from Ventnor and it would make a change from Yarmouth.

Steve - owing to the fact that I'm a lightweight(metaphorically) , and it wont be 32'c that weekend I think I will wait till later in the summer .

I think my 12 year old daughter may not be too keen either ........

And small size fuel tank at 120l usable worries me about having a decent reserve .........

I need a bigger boat, in a warmer climate ! - I'll stick to Yarmouth for the moment - maybe Cowes if its flat sea .

Pete

edit - just seen Davids post - I can see me getting roped in ...........but I'll be stopping in Cowes to top off the tank! My tide 'Window' is 10am - 7pm so good all day really .

Looking good, a fair bit of elbow grease used.

Thinking about getting the Parker out for the 7th and having a run down to the Needles & Yarmouth, with some friends.

Should have all the new gear by then so if anyone is around with a camera or video, would love some new shots of the boat.

Thanks , I'll ensure the camera is on hand, and we have several on board .

Having spoken to the kids they are very anti a trip round the Island at the moment so I'll stick to plan A - solent/ Yarmouth etc.
