    Morning Biff

I've got my winter project sorted for this year(!) but want to ask your advice regarding refurbing a pair of stainless MY morse controls.

I originally thought I would replace the existing separate gear and throttle controls with a single combined lever but having been out on the boat a couple of times I really like the way it's possible to hold the helm and have the throttle control lever positioned perfectly between the fourth and little finger, making required adjustments a very easy operation requiring minimal movement/pressure whilst keeping both hands on the helm.

Question is this; the levers are showing cosmetic wear so the stainless is showing through the black finish, particularly on the 'buttons', so would it be possible/worthwhile to get these powder-coated or would I be wasting my time?

    Cheers

    Hi Biff,

I might have a job for you if you are interested. It is a Sealine S34 based in Gosport Marina which has rubbing strake damage and gelcoat bits where rubbing strake has been hit. It is storm damage. I can get the strake and insert. I have tried your mobile, but no answer.

    My number is 07778 646518.

    Cheers

Hi Biffer, I own a RC 585 with Suzuki 140 4-stroke. I have read with interest your posts regarding the transom mould to stop water over the transom. Is this mould available for purchase?

Hi Biffer, Polwart gave me your name to ask you about my old ribtec.
It seems I have had some water ingress in to the hull for some time.
I was wondering if you know if the underside of the deck was glassed on the very early boats?
The deck/wood seemed a little too soft to me. but when tapping the hull all sounds clear and bright sounding.

    Any ideas.

Oh ps this hull does not have a drain form the hull to the reat sump

    Thanks

Hi Biff, sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but you know the area better than anyone else.
We have had a couple of enquiries about taking people from The Island Harbour back to Southampton after the Festival at the weekend. However, to come around from Poole just to do this means the cost would be huge. However, if we could fill the boat(12) and perhaps do a couple of trips, as we are coded for night work, it might just be viable.
In you opinion, is there passing trade/demand for this sort of service at the end of the Festival??
    Regards Steve
