Any particular reason why you've got your heart set on that particular boat?

Leeway don't have a great reputation and I don't think they actually made very many RIBs because they were never particularly popular. Let us know a bit more about what you want the boat for and I'm sure you'll get some better suggestions.

In fact Boss, they were a kinda "phantom" RIB builder - a splash in the pan, as it were....

I have a friend who has a leeway rib. After years spent out in all weathers and sea states, him in the leeway and myself swapping through quite a few brands been out performed in many ways.

After now using his rib for a few months I come to my own first hand conclusion that leeway ribs are very well made and perform much better than a lot of well known brands. I had to have a few repairs in a couple ribs, his is still going strong and still looking like new.

I helped to cut a hatch in the deck of his 2008 leeway and the hull is so strong and well made.

I'm not here to get involved with keyboard warriors. Just using this great platform to try and help find what I am looking for.

Any Leads to finding a leeway 6.3m mk2 will be greatly recieved

How many did you build? Surely you wouldn't have too much trouble tracking one down by contacting the people you originally sold them to...

Hey Guys,

I know you've had your run-ins with Lee in the past, but if I was a Leeway rib owner right now, I would kinda feel like a 2nd class, foolish and not very welcome member of the forum (through no fault of my own).

For what it's worth, we have 3 Leeway owners on our Dry Stack, and they all seem pretty happy with their boats and uninterested in the politics of the past.

Steve , I don't think anybody is having a dig at Leeway owners . What many folk on here do object to is unscrupulous methods of promoting their own product . In these hi-tech days it's not too difficult to trace ( most ) posters .

If anyone had dissed a Leeway RIB out of hand then your concerns would be valid but luckily that's not the case. Reading the old posts I do see that there were some concerns about the ethics of the company itself, hence the comment. However, it's all academic as there are no active Leeway owners on the forum (other than Lee in his various guises) with the last post made in 2008.

Seeding the forum with "wanted ads" for the product you build/t and then bigging them up could potentially be construed as astroturfing:

Looking at purchasing a rib a few years ago on the south coast, local boat dealer suggested I kept away from a 'particular' brand, poorly splashed and if you looked closely down the hull the chines weren't straight..............

can you send me pictures of the rib without the deck in as i don't believe that is from a leeway.

leeway decks are pasted to internal frames and glassed on underside that shows neither of these traits.

No, I can't. It was a repair I did a number of years ago with the original owner of the boat so I'm sure of it's heritage.
