Tornado or XS 5m wanted

Tornado or XS 5m wanted. Must have Four Stroke outboard at least 50HP. Prefer multiple jockey seats but happy to do work / upgrade if right price. Based near Ipswich but would travel for right boat. Thanks Mike

A heavy four stroke 50 may be a tad under powered for a 5m. Go for a two stroke more hole shot and lighter much better handling too, less weight on the stern.

Hi Paul yes would be interested to know more about your rib - location, trailer, history and what is included. Might consider a re engine if price is right. Want the rib to support sailing events so being quiet and happy to run at tick over for long periods more important than outright performance re Jaime's comment which is fair enough.

I agree about 4S engines as my Tornado 5m with its old 60hp Merc seems ideal, although I am thinking of a re power with a Yam 70Hp 4S.

Thanks for the link brilliant forum for help and finding this. I am already in contact with Jamie over the weekend. Sounds like a great boat and well looked after.

Thanks Dave for confirming your thoughts on 4 strokes. My preference would be 60hp plus but also keen to stay under 750kg to avoid braked trailers and attendant hassles. Suspect it will be a delicate balance on engine selection and staying light enough to be under 750kg. Suspect I can't go over 60hp and even that may be close.

Mike
