RNLI Y Class SIB wanted

Coming into the season soon, thought I would put a shout out - following this topic last summer:

http://www.rib.net/forum/f50/rnli-y-...ase-42803.html

I'm still looking for a nice original Y Class - if anyone sees one for sale or hears of one on the grapevine please let me know!

Ring the RNLI depot at Poole, they have a department there that deals with all disposals and Sales. Dont look for any bargins though!! They want top dollar for all sales & disposals.

Thanks guys, yes I've been in contact with the RNLI's disposal officer since last summer (they sell them for £800) - nothing around for a while now:

http://www.rib.net/forum/f50/fantast...ted-43598.html

I did contact the owner of that one above (Trell) but I'm really trying to find a good original one where the transom hasn't been cut down - as many were.

Yes, spotted this one yesterday - it's a real beauty and very original looking - I did email the seller over the weekend as I don't want the trailer or Parsun but I think he will hold out and try and sell the package - will be surprised it it sells though, I think he probably wants too much for it and high reserves are never the way to go, start everything at 99p and let the market decide the value.

As I say the RNLI disposals officer tells me they release them at £800 so I'm holding out for one from them probably, would rather all the money went straight to them...

Here's a bump for an older topic - still looking for a reasonably priced nice usable original Y Class if anyone hears of one for sale on their travels or contacts.

I also need a Mariner 2 stroke 15hp to suit but needs to be regular gear shift (not incorporated in the tiller) - ex-RNLI would be even better.

Hi, saw your post. I have a Y Class that i'm possibly looking to sell. It's in poole and is in good condition. I will have access it tomorrow and will sort you out some photos. If you are near Poole you are welcome to have a look. I don't know the state of the transom given your comment re what you wanted but i'll take some photos and send them to you

Regards, Paul

Hi, Not very good photos below. Transom hasn't been altered. Is in good shape. Tubes are soft but i've had it 2 - 3 years and never put air in - nor used it. Its in good condition and is certainly not tatty. I would venture to suggest that it is probably as good as you could expect given it must be fairly old. Please note no oars or the little orange box. No engine either.

Another benefit is that if you visit Cobbs where it is we have the Lifeboat Maintainance Centre here at the moment so lots of lifeboats to see !

Regards, Paul
