Diesel Rib

Hi,

I have a 9m Scorpion with yamaha 420STi engine coupled to Hydra drive leg.
Very well spec'd, 3 internal tanks with electronic change over. 2x vhf, 2x GPS, fish finder etc etc Very clean boat. However located in Ireland.

I would be looking for 22k sterling but I'm sure a deal could be reached.

If your interested give me a shout and I will get full spec and pics onto you.

Dan

How does you boat perform with that engine, it's only 240hp right? Does it have a trailer / what age / how many engine hours?

It performs fantastically with it, very very economical, with the current prop setup it will peak at 35/36 knots however I just cruise it at 24/27 and its very light on fuel.
As far as I know its a 1998 with 1200 hours on it, engine had a full rebuild 2 years ago (lots of receipts to prove) it is silky smooth, doesnt burn oil, same can be said for the leg, it gets stripped and serviced every 6 months.

Its on a super rollercoaster trailer however I do need to replace one axle on it before the start of the season.

Im not in any massive rush to sell, the only r3ason that I am is because I am in the local lifeboat (mechanic and crew) and I spend more time out training in that than I do in my own rib, I simply dont have the time.

Sounds a nice setup. I can't buy it (right now) as I'm in the middle of another refurb but 2 affordable scorpion diesels in the space of a week. Damn.

Volvo Kad44

I have an 8.5 Humber with Volvo Kad44 no real issues except a few starter motors in the last 7 years , I have seen 38kn with a following wind but tend to stick to about 2600 rpm which is good for around 25 kn . Fuel is about 1.1l per mile . The super charger and turbo combination appears complex but works well and very good pick up and no lag.
