Boat Hire Poole Area?

We are boatless having outgrown and sold our 3.3m SIB.

We are in Poole last week of May 2015 and I'm looking to hire something.

I have PB level II (gained on a RIB at Seafever, Chichester) and Day Coastal Skipper tidal/power (ICC) gained on a 40 foot gin palace at Top Deck Marine Solent, both from 10 years ago. Ah those great days before kids

I'd had a SIB for a few years and piloted canal barges and Broads plastic boats.

I have a handheld VHF (and the licence to use it) and am not some muppet.

Don't know about Poole but Bembridge Marine in IOW do, speak to Jim Robinson or check out their website

Is Bembridge too far? Jim Robinson (on here) has a wee fleet of sensibly priced sensible bare boats (i.e. typical practical stuff like normal people own rather than a massive thing for people with big chequebooks).

Open day boats like a mini Boston whaler - 15hp - quite good for exploring the harbour. They may know of something larger.

The Bembridge boats are really good but I believe they are only licensed for use within the Solent. Worth checking though as they do have ideal boats.

One more - Call Spencer at Sandbanks Yacht Company - they have a large coded rib. Not sure if they rent it bare or skippered but its pretty big.

After some more searching its either a 15hp hard board to pootle around Poole harbour but then a jump to a high powered Rib in the Solent.

Ideally something in the middle would suit if anyone has any more suggestions.

Yellow penguin don't do any self drive boat hire anymore. They purely do engineering and boat care work now. They look after my boat and have done for a long time.

So far my options are for a days hire are:

7 hrs £ 210 (inc fuel) for a 15hp 5.3 meter open boat from Poole Boat Hire
PRICES
Full day £ 325 (ex fuel) for a 175hp 6.8 meter RIB from Ocean Sports Tuition Solent
Bare Boat Rib Charter : Ocean Sports

The Poole pootler looks over priced compared to the Sports Rib which is a little overkill for the family but looks a hoot!

I was under the impression you wanted to hire one for a few days.
I have a 2012 7.5 Meter Rib with a 300 Verado in Cobbs Quay.
Not worth it for me for a day.
