Hello, still looking for a large twin outboard ‘family’ type set up rib. 9-11 metre.
By manufacturers such as; Scorpion, Revenger, Ring, Redbay etc.
Happy to do work, or buy ready to go.

She IS the boatshow vessel. I have no idea what she would need to move her - the Boss is enjoying having her sitting there. He can be "taking tea" on Islay 45 minutes after he leaves the office....

There was a nice looking 8.5m scorpion with twin 225hp Hondas and yellow tubes called supertonic on here for sale..

Guessing they can't afford to run it. I believe one of their old vessels was an Avon Searider. Quite a step up to a boat like that.

How about a Ribtec 9m with a cuddy/cabin and twin 275 outboards. A friend of mine is about to sell his and its in superb condition. If interested please let me know.

Hi Lee,

That's unusual and as the ex technical editor and chief tester of Rib Magazine (now Powerboat & Rib) I am somewhat surprised. As you probably know, Alan Priddy circumnavigated the globe in a similar sized Ribtec so I must assume it is the look of them or something other than the capabilities of the craft that you are not a fan of!

I have a Scorpion Sting (10m cabin RIB) with twin Yanmar 315 diesels in excellent condition; would that be of interest, or do you prefer outboard power? Whist I love the Scorpion, I am about to embark on the building a new one off 10m Wheelhouse Rib with a single 440hp Yanmar on a surface drive and sadly the Scorpion must go to fund it.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you a fan of? If the Ribtec & Scorpion don't fit the bill, perhaps I can assist you in finding something that does.

What would be your perfect RIB?

Scorpion serket 98 with suspension seating for 4, rear bench seating twin outboards, 2 x 350 litre fuel tanks. Older hull, newer engines.
Revenger 32 to similar spec
Redbay to similar spec

Normal problem - not enough budget !!!! And not many made that are older hulls (hence cheaper) more common spec on ribs manufactured currently.

Understood. Presumably outboard power and knowing approximate budget would be helpful, also if you require any type of protection other than a windscreen!
