8m rib please

I'm looking to upgrade to a boat around 8m, will consider inboard and outboard engines. I'm after a leisure layout but a boat capable of cruising long distances. So far been considering Scorpion, Ribcraft, Cobra. In order to get the home office fully on side the boat will need a large bow sun deck, jockey seating for four plus a bench on the back. Nothing to rugged, just well made please. I missed out on an 8.6 Shearwater last month when I didn't have the money. I'm ready to go now. Budget £30 to 50k although in this climate it would need to be outstanding value for me to spend the upper end of this budget.

Hi , I believe I have got the right model and specification for you.
A Parker 800 Baltic with twin Mercury 150 EFI, large bow sun deck , Neptune console with front integrated bench seat, 2 x 3 man jockey seats. Colour all blue, a photo is on our home page Parker Rib ? There are are number of photos just hang on for it to pass. I will post some photos later and give you a price on Monday. I can deliver in time for the Bank Holiday weekend

The rib has been used as a demo model in Poland will confirm the hours on Monday.

There are very few hulls that can match our Baltic so you will have the right cruising rib especially for long distances

If you plan to cruise to anywhere away from the Solent I would recommend you consider a diesel powered RIB as petrol is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain in many harbours due to the stringent storage of petroleum spirits regulations. Also, diesel engines are much more economical. There are currently a number of Scorpion, Redbay and Revenger RIBs on the For Sale sites that might meet your requirements.

Cypman - Thanks that's a good tip and one (in Poole) I'd not considered the petrol situation etc.

I agree about the fuel as I myself have a demo Parker 750 Baltic with a diesel 270HP but no sun pad. I had a few issues with the electrics so I sent the rib back to the factory and will be back at the end of the month fully serviced. That rib is also available for sale.

saying this petrol is not an issue in the Solent

In the meantime here are some photos of the Parker 800 Baltic. The engines are the best in their class and very good on fuel. I had an opportunity to test this rib last year and was pleasantly surprised how good they were.

Let me know what you think? I will write a short specification with price later

One never has enough storage space on an open rib. This is a photo of a Parker 900 Baltic known as "NautiBouy". This will give you some idea of the size of the sun pad and amount of storage space. There is also lots of space in the bench seat. I have the same console on my demo rib and so has Martini on his Halmatic rib. In a head on wind you do not feel a thing. The console provides excellent protection for the crew. Not many can say that about their consoles.

I was in the same position last year, was running 6.6 / 150hp and wanted to upgrade to a 8m. Ended up with a Stingher 800 gt with a 300 verado hung off he back. Been extremely pleased with the boat, brilliant build quality, handles very well and fast. Massive storage areas and a large bow sun deck. I'd buy another one tomorrow , Ed at MRL Southampton is the importer. Good luck with your hunt!

Agree with Lee A's comments, loads of room and storage.

I looked at the Stingher 800 at yesterdays Sandbanks Boat show, very nice but anew one is now £76,000 and too expensive. A second hand one seems rare.

I went for a ribeye 785 in the end. Had been using a friend's 8m Cougar for years went to the boat show and was blown away by the amount of space in a slightly smaller rib
but better layout. Shift as well with a 300 on the back. Good build quality as well.

I have a 8.75m Scorpion Rib, with an inboard diesel engine for sale... it is currently on the hard at Opal Marine, at Chichester Marina... its a great boat, don't really want to sell it! (But I have a Windy in Lymington and can't justify two power boats).

Well equipped, low hours, 2007... and inside your target range!
