4m RIB Humber, Searider or something similar!

Hi,

We are looking for a 4-5m RIB, with a 30-40hp engine, rollercoaster trailer. All in good condition. Would prefer a Humber or a Searider, but open to suggestions!

Based in Cornwall, but willing to travel for the right boat.

Please help!

Thanks,

Liz

A small Destroyer would be good but you don't see that many of them. I think the Seariders handle better than the Assaults.
What sort of budget do you have?

Welcome to the forum!

Budget is a little elastic, finding the right boat is the important bit! :-) Been a bit of a fruitless search so far, running out of places to try!

Here is an Assault for sale with a great Tohatsu 50 (slightly bigger than what you wanted). I saw this boat for sale at Wolf Rock ribs in Salcombe last year and the person who bought it kept it moored at Brixham.

Where abouts in Cornwall are you?

Good little boats, go like stink too. Depending on what the boat is used for could be ok. I know alot of people who buy them for the fact they fit in most garages.

Taken this one for a test drive, very overpowerd and stern heavy - other than that great boat! :-) think I would have bought it with a 30 or 40hp on.

The 60hp is too big due to fuel costs but the 40hp two stroke is ok?

Good point ;-) weight is a consideration for us too. We launch across a soft sandy beach, and often need to land in surf so ideally looking for an engine with manual tilt and trim.

Why manual trim and tilt, do you run it up the beach?
My SR has a couple of patches but holds air well.

When we have to yes, not ideal I know.

We're likely to be using and abusing the RIB, so really want to start with one without patches so there's plenty of room for my own ;-)

I know I'm bias but I'd get an old SR if I thought it was going to be run up a beach.

At 4k for the assault and probably less if you put an offer in. you will struggle to get another 2006 boat. From memory, I think it has a roller trailer. move the console forward and change the engine if need be.
