Yeah exactly, I’ve been doing it up super tight on the last few attempts to try and stop the leak and it gets to this point (photo above) kinda leak and I can’t get it any better.

I would agree the o-ring creates the seal.
However I’ve tried the valve from the keel & opposite side and the problem still persists,

So it must be the hex boss is distorted or hairline cracked in some way.

Yeah mate that’s what I’m beginning to think, I’ve slapped some PRFE on and it slowed the leak a little, I’ve just put some more on and left it see how it hold up.

But I think you are right I think there is a crack in the boss
