Zodiac YL 420 DL Replacement Tubes

Just got on the forum so here goes. I have 1997 YL 420 DL in need of replacement tubes. I have checked on line all over and there are some pretty big price differences 1,900 to 2,500 for what seems like the same set. Any ideas or suggestions on the replacement? Are they all the same or are some not the original material etc?

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum SAcropolis.

Prices will vary, because it will depend on what's in stock, and what fits. Yours will be an early model YL, so you need to question whether you repair or replace. A lot of Zodiac tubesets will be specifically built to order, but occasionally you can land lucky and get old or cancelled orders for a reduced price.

This is from an Oregon dealer, in white PVC, $2,500 plus shipping. Not sure if the YL uses a slide on tubeset like the Pro?

tubes

In order to determine the correct tubes for your boat you will need the full twelve digit serial number along with the type/serie number off of your capacity plate. There are numerous tubesets for Yl 420's and they are not all interchangeable.

I have the same Zodiac. As far as I can tell, all the replacement tubes are the same and made in the same factory - and most of the pricing difference is dealers not updating their pricing. I called a few dealers and was told the wait time can be from one month to many months, so don't order if you need them soon.

My tubes are fine but I will replace them in a year or so as we plan on doing some ocean running and I would prefer new tubes for that.

Some of those boats were built in the US, France, and Canada. They look similar but tubes are not always interchangeable. The tube in the link above does not fit all versions. IBC is a very respectable dealer and does a great job listing which boats the tubes they offer will fit .
