It's actually a point of substantial research and debate among female recreational divers who frequent recreational boats. Our maillist has, in the past, gone on for several (uncomfortable) days about the pros and cons of different solutions. The one Ashbypower recommended seems to be one of the more popular.

The female member of our small diving flotilla has, on more than one occasion, received a radio call at a rather inopportune (for her) moment asking what she was doing.

The "She-P" is a product for women that glues on and allows them to pee just like men, thru a pee valve in a drysuit. Very common for female deco divers to use. The alternative is diapers. When properly hydrated, holding it is typically not an option for either gender.

Probably easier to use the bucket, then chuck it overboard (I would assume a rope is attached).
