How many people have experienced 10 different manufacturers of RIBS? Not enough to get an accurate opinion, that’s for sure… and yes, mine is the best…

I suppose I would put a Delta fairly high up a top ten list and a humber, well the one I had, fairly low down the scale!!

Tornados seem to be pretty good but possibly a bit too expensive. (Why don't they build a bigger well in the back of the boat for water??)

Solents, look very good value and pretty good build quality too.

Thats my two penneth!!!

Solents seem to have gained a good reputation, although for me it would have to be a Redbay!

Never tried a redbay so can't really comment. They do seem to perform well in reviews. How are they in terms of value for money??

And scorpians? Are these really value for money?? Or are they good boats that are very expensive??

Ribcrafts have got to be up there somewhere or the coasties would not buy them!

I'd prob put a Solent up in the number one spot for value for money then. Any body disagree?

Great boats, very very strong, but a very hard and wet ride.

I had one for 10 years!

I would rearrange your sentance as "they are very good boats that are expensive"

There are of course exceptions but having owned and been on a few boats over the years I would say Scorpion are #1.

Horses for courses, its just my view.

Guys this is about value for money. A trade off. You can get 8m boats for the same price of a 4m of some builders but I don't think it would last long. The most competitve market is the 5.5m to 6m one (Family Car)

Its not down to what you want to use it for cause you'd expect to pay more readies for a commercial spec and get a correspondingly better spec and higher price.

Totally subjective, but regarding your request for views on best looking Ribs you don't have to have owned a particular RIB to have a view on looks and these are mine:

1. RIBEYE 750/765
2. Scorpion
3. Revenger
4. Solent
5. Coastline
6. ProSport
7. V-Type

Ok as was said at the start of this thread, I would vote for XS as I did a lot of shopping about and for value for money could not find anything better....unless you know different

Took me months to find the boat that best suited my requirements. Chose the Osprey, more than pleased with it in all depts. Surely Ferryman (a la' St. Ives) must feature in someone's list.

I've got a pretty high opinion of Avon having recently sold a 30 year old 9 ft SIB that my dad owned and used constantly from new as a yacht tender.
We put it through hell and it still didn't have any patches on the tubes when I sold it.

That and where I launch in Poole, Seariders are the predominant rib in use.Last week there were 5 of them including mine in a row waiting to launch-some dating back to the mid 70's and still in good order with no major repairs.

Wonder how many of the others will last that long...
