Well here go,s
I have had 5.6 Avon a 5.85 ribcraft a 7.5 cobra and i have a 8.1 Scorpion on order.The Avon holds the best memories and after 3 years of being thrashed its still looked good and nothing fell off a tribute to the guys at BHG Marine ,the cobra was alright just silly things like why do they put the battery in the stearn unprotected when one realy good stuffing would fuse it out,plus afew more groans.
The ribcraft i never got on with wheather i had a Friday boat i dont know as pleanty of people i know love them. As for the scorpion i looked at every boat in the same class and when i looked at the older ones they are a bit like Merceedes cars they still look good after years of hard work and hold there value, how many do you see for sale secondhand.But thats just my opinion.

I can only give a view of 3 and as people say it depends on what you want it for, but here is my view of the 3 for what it is worth.
Humber, this was our first boat and came as a package , it was a 5.5 assault, this was a great little boat but with limitations. Its finish was average and there Customer service was crap. But it was our forst boat and as such we did not know what to expect - all in all it servered us well.
Porter, 6.5. this is a school boat i use for teaching. Better in rough conditions but is basic, which is probably a good thing for a school boat. A good boat for the job and cheap to run.
Scorpion 7.5 with a 200 Evinrude Fitch. We always wanted one of these, i went out on Paul Gatzels Secopion in some bad conditions and its handeling sold it for me. As people have seen from my running reports the boat has been very good to us and is coded. We purchased second hand and it took us some time to find the one i wanted, e.g looked after. The new one are very expensive.
We like the stability of the rib, even just coming out of chicester bar the we watch normal boat bobbing up and down , wehereas we just keep going, one day we would like a cabin rib so we can go port hopping - one day

Surprising....
(a) that AVON dont feature more - I know I have one and like it - but it's objective too - the finish of my Avon (10 years old) is still better than on many much newer ribs I've been on - and their experience in making RIBS must be worth something...
(b) the ProSport make it - purely because of the other threads running relating to Olmec and poor quality tubing, and how ProSport use (or did use) Olmec tubes - however the ProSports look good...
(c) that COBRA dont feature more - they have to be one of the best looking RIBS on the market at the moment....

Avon Searider 5.4 - Timeless classic and still one of the nicest to use, certainly for the size.
Humber - good solid and reliable
Ribtec/Ribeye
Scorpion - everyone loves them and they go well but overpriced ($$$ - especially when hearing stories from someone who built them)
Halmatic Arctic or Pacific 28 or the Halmatic Cougar 35 Enforcer - lovely boats, proper ability in the rough stuff
One for the Rotten Tomatoes
Had a Falcon from ZA before - flimsy build and slammed too much (but cheap)

Agree with Mark Wildey.
How you will use the RIB is a major factor.
But we have very good experience of Gemini and Solent.

Eh? I think you'll find that the overwhelming verdict on Olmec quality is very good. There's only one person on here as far as I know who goes on and on...and on... about his problem (  ). Other threads have explained that one.

Well, unlike most, i don't think my current chosen boat make is "best value for money", of course i think it's an exceptionally good comprimise (ride, speed, length, cost, looks etc. etc.) but all boats are that.
Solent gets my vote for all round value for money.
Scorpion for best leisure RIB - ignoring the price.
