Yarmouth - Saturday

Was in Yarmouth on Saturday, couple of smart Ballistics alongside and a good showing of RIB's in general. Took the water taxi out to witness the resident dolphin... Anyone else bee out to see it? Why did I take the boat out of the water early this year!

The BIBOA Weymouth cruise (weekend just gone) starts and finishes at Yarmouth so that would have accounted for 21 RIBs. Richard saw the dolphin when approaching Yarmouth yesterday lunchtime. Not sure if he managed to capture it on video or not - he'll be putting a thread on later with a link to the video.

How far outside the harbour does it tend to hang out. I would like to go over and have a look.

Was just to the west of the harbour entrance - where the visitor moorings are. Very close to the shore. Easily seen from the shore and pier and were within a couple of feet of it with the harbour taxi. Best spent £8 ever - take family out to see a dolphin - our eldest is still babbling on about it now, youngest babbling too but not sure what about!

On Sunday lunchtime, tho dolphin was down in Colwell Bay having a great time swimming between us and a couple of jetskis. Did a great jump out of the water alongside us.

Was very exciting to see!

Well... I was video-ing... and I did just catch the dolphin doing one jump far away in the distance at the edge of the frame. Didn't catch him on video when he jumped next to us though - I wasn't expecting him or her to be so close so quickly!

If you tickle them under the tail, the ladies squeak - apparently - according to San Diego Seaworld

Saw him (or her) whilst on charter on Friday. Definitely likes that patch of water by the entrance close to the visitors moorings, so i guess the feeding must be good. He came high out of the water as I approached and leapt across the bow - frightened the living shit out of the clients who were well impressed after I told them it was a Dolphin, not a Great White. It seemed to have a nick out of the rear of the dorsal fin though - he swims very close to the motor right under the boat. Hope he hasn't been clobbered.
