Wait times vary depending on how busy they are, how long did you have to wait for yours?

Still waiting! Put my deposit on in early September 18! Two weeks before the boat show if i remember correctly...wanted to make sure it was in before the boat show rush...that failed.

I do know others who ordered after me who have their boats (some with months) but for some reason mine seems to be very very delayed! BTW as of right now, still no confirmed delivery date!

Ouch! Is it an oddball or something exotic? Have you spoken directly to Mark?

Nothing crazy, 6.8 with a suzuki on the back! standard console and seating.

No special builds, everything out of the catalog!

I've Mark on speed dial at this stage, plenty of excuses but not much progress. I know they have had a few big boats to get out around it. I think what gets to me the most is the laissez faire approach to dates. In April he said May, in May he said June, in June is was the 1st week in July...and yesterday when i was talking to him is was a maybe in next few weeks. If in April when just said July, yes I'd be pissed but it would save all the messing back and forth.

Anyways...this was not a bitch about Ribcraft thread...back to the OP, cant speak to XS but I bought a Ribcraft based on their reputation, i hope it is worth it, even ever i get it. I would just forwarn anyone buying direct, take any delivery with a pinch of salt

Can't comment on the specific XS you mentioned but they are also good, solid boats with good sea-keeping and a good reputation. I've only ever had great service from Barnett marine too.

I know ... and I did expect a little slippage.....but not this much! Don't worry pressure is not coming off .. at this stage if I was mark . ..I'd get it finished just to shut me up!

My lad has a 6.8 and being at sea for 35 years I've been on a lot of ribs from Pacifics, Atlantic's, seariders and generally anything the navy/police have had in 35 years, whilst I cant comment on the xs I can say my sons 6.8 is great compared to them. That doesnt mean you should be missing dates, that is poor but it will be worth it.

Have you done a trila in each of the boats to find out which you prefer from a handling / layout / feel point of view. Adger driving both you will know which one you prefer.
Most important thing is you are comfortable with the boat.

all that's good but it doesn't help me in my decision
in resumer the XS 700 is 40 cm longer and 10 cm smaller in beam than the ribcraft does't will be best than the ribacraft

with us there is plenty of ribcraft and no XS
but they don't have a pungent this may explain that

what do you thinks about the SUZUKI DF200 in 4 cylindres ?

I'd be angling for a refund and nipping down to see Lawrence Lock.

Love is blind, that goes for Ribcraft love too.

Sounds like there is a potential market in "Ribcraft futures"!

Redbay Boats are similarly snowed - last time I asked the build slots were running out over 12 months for commencement. Annual build metres are falling but tonnage is rising

There is something to be said for local depth of knowledge. May be easier to get get support from RC if required than Xs. The after sales service / support is a factor not to be ignored. I'm not saying XS can't / don't provide it, but I'd want some reassurance.

Both Ribcraft and XS will be at Southampton boat show in September. I believe XS will have a 700 there. Definitely a 650. Depending on where in France you are would be worth the trip.
