Sir, nothing is beyond duct tape

As someone's signature line said ( may even have been on here) " duct tape is like the Force, it has a light side and a dark side and it holds the Universe together..."

It's an odd one to collide with something that size. No 27 is a proper lightfloat, about 8m LOA and 3m beam.
It'll be interesting to read the MAIB report when it comes out......

Oh come on be fair, we don't yet know the facts. You never know he may claim that it hit him....

No, that would require nautical knowledge. I reckon he thought it was green for "go"

Good job he didn't meet a red one, he might still be waiting....

Now now fellas, let's not be too flippant!

Playing devil's advocate (a bit):
It was early on a still morning - fog could have been a factor.
They were in a flotilla of other boats - maybe had to take avoiding action?
27 has been moved quite recently - maybe they hadn't updated their charts/plotter.

No real excuses though. Like I said, the report will be interesting......

No!!!!!
If foggy there's no way they should have been doing 25kts especially in a flotilla Always operate with your visibility window

I agree entirely. I'm not saying any of these events are excusable, just saying they may have been factors.
