Why so cheap...

Excuse my ignorance, the seller most likely posts on here (Since the advert is on rib.net) but why is this RIB so cheap....

Seems a bit too good to be true, a diesel RIB for under £14k?

I tend to agree with you the photos i would think are old when the boat was new perhaps as i dont think the add said the year or its the wrong price.If not someone should bite his arm off

I searched his previous threads/posts

The boat is a 1996 and when he bought it the engine wasnt working (He was lookin for a recon Volvo engine), so the boat is 10 years old

He was also enquiring about 'painting' the tubes as they were very faded, so im guessing they're painted, hence why they look so fresh

I guess i'll keep shopping!

Just because tubes are painted dosen't mean they're crap and at the end of their life, just means they've faded and some colours fade more than others.

And for a 10 year RIB I guess its a fair price. Certainly worth a look because you never know!

I'm in Ireland, if I was in the UK i'd definately take a look.
I've brought back 3 RIB's fromt he UK before and i've been happy with all 3, but it only takes one bad apple to ruin the pie

True. Good point! I guess you have to be pickier than most because of obvious resons. However I've seen some good looking and rather attactivly priced RIBs in Ireland

The problem is that im after a diesel, very little diesel RIB's in Ireland

Outboard prices in Ireland are competitive with the UK though, you've got a point there

there are at least two parkers on the east coast ! though with diesel up to a euro a litre maybe there's not so much advantage??

Diesel is currently 72c and they are a way more economical engine, thats why id go for a diesel.

I'd love a Parker 630 with the diesel inboard... some day some day!
