There's a Slip on the Fylde coast, mostly used by the local fishing club. It's a hell of a place though and you do need a tractor to survive the beach. People try it with 4X4's and get stuck and up until last year someone from the fishing club would pull them out with one of the tractors. Not anymore as the last time this happened they failed in trying to pull the car out. The owner tried to sue them! So they say they will just launch on by now.
That's really sad. I wonder if it really was the car owner who sued? My partner was involved in a road accident some time ago. No one hurt at all, though the other car was written off - it was very old and falling apart anyway. Exchanges between drivers were as amicable as they could be in the circumstances.

Some weeks later we got a phone call from the other driver, very upset, asking why we were sueing him for personal injuries. We assured him we weren't and didn't know anything about it. Turns out this was our insurance company trying to get their money back. We don't insure with them anymore.
