Who can help me to design tent for rough sea conditions?

Hi! I would like to design tent for my boat! All advices will be greeted!

The easiest, simplest way is to run a rope from a point on you bow to the cetre of the top of your windscreen. Then to drape a tarpaulin over it, fastening it down at the sides to your grab-handles and side ropes.
Not enough to sleep under, but it sure would keep (most of) the water out.

Of course it won't work - everyone knows you need to hammer the tent pegs into the tubes....

Of course it's the good idea but... I wonder whether the wether
will weather the weather or whether the weather the wether will kill!

How about a rainy day? I would hate to be wet!

I'm talking about tent rather than spray hood! I would like to have collapsible cabin! Who is Chris Horridge?

Would a tent stand up to the wind when moving fast? I think you may need a big windscreen.

If I go by Cigarette Class One then It's important but I have only 30 knots

What you need is a tunnel type - or even something solid - shaped a bit like a roofbox on a car.

Or what about a roof tent?

Roof tent looked like tunnel tube is very good idea! But I think my boat will be like sausage or hot dog

Does it matter if you're dry?

30 knots of wind is quite a lot for a tent to stand up to while it's being bounced about and lots of water hitting it.

I agree with you but I can make many canopy bows and the problem can be solved.

I would of thought the ony design that would stay up whilst moving would be a geodesic pole type.

The crossing of the poles create a very stable structure that can withstand very high wind speeds if anchored down well.

I bought one last year and its pretty good, takes 2 seconds to put up, has no rigid poles and stays up without being pegged down, to keep it on the deck you could secure a couple of straps across somehow, then in the morning it takes 2 seconds to fold it down and re bag it

Would suggest the two man one unless you have a really big deck area.

Olympus do them for about £24 so if it gets wrecked its not the end of the world.

Made this kind of roof/cabin myself to stay dry at lunch time. Stands up to about 50km/hr. Folds down with it's alu frame and RVS hinges, for speeds up to 98 km/hr.
We sleep under the front deck. We make lots of trips, sailing, sleeping, eating, etc. this way.

Sorry your original post said you wanted to design a tent for your boat, this implies your looking to sleep in/on it over night, assuming your not under power ! what your now saying is that you want a bimini or some other contraption to keep you dry while your going along !

As someone else has said, if you wana stay warm and dry why did you buy a rib, surely the whole concept is the wind in your face thing in a rugged go anywhere boat, not some namby pamby cabin jobby
