Ha ha : jack up the engine to an inch of its life, run it on jet A1 with a surface drive....?

Yes i meant the wind speed in the harbour.
out of curiosity anyone know what the "D" ring in the bow (ring the trailer strap lips too) is tested to load wise?
I have my rib swinging from a 24mm strop connected to the "D" ring with a ss split thimble to another thimble with two large caribeeners onto the moorings. Then a lazy 24mm strop over the tubes to the smason post.
I always worry thats it the ring pulling out that is the weak link..but it had a good test last weekend.

I doubt if they are "tested" as such, but if it pulls out whilst the boat is afloat there are far bigger issues to worry about! The strain of dragging a boat onto a bunked trailer would probably give it a harder time.

I would lose the caribeeners if it was my boat.

For the record the engine was as high as it would go - I had the boat a little sideways a couple of times on Monday when trimmed / lifted too much! The regulations and the motor prevent me from running A1 or a surface drive (it's an outboard), and the one record was for single outboard mono submersed propeller - hope that clears it up! Next year we will probably go back with a little more time and a bit more power and see if I can get a gold star!

Yeah, for sure. Be at the ready for a weather window though. Cruser and Randski have sold their boats, so we are a little reduced in number at the mo.

Only if you pull your finger out and get the new one 'sparked' up.
And.... I get a garage built.
