Which of the following ribs ?

Hi

Had a quick look on B&O for something around the 5.3 to 5.8m with a budget
of around the stg 8k mark and came up with the following . Not sure if all of them are still available or not but would value any opinions on any of them .
Looking for something good in the rough and seating for 3 or 4 . Would like a direct injection 2 stroke or 4 stroke but maybe beyond me budget

SR5.4 http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F132045/
Ribtec 585 http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F130586/
Ribcraft 585 http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F129009/
SR5.4 http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/BHG157/
Osprey Viper http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F132711/

also locally a 95 SR5.4 with a 01 Yam 90 2 stroke , no photos as yet but supposed to be in v.good condition. Haven't arrange to see yet .

Regards
Tim

Also, the last one is owned (I think) by Dave Manning on the forum. Cracking little boat (one I am considering!) that has been very well looked after.

The Ribtec has the better engine of the lot of them. Modern and should give a good turn of speed.

What about the Honda 90 or the 90hp optimax on the SR5.4's . Would these be a bit on the heavy side for a SR5.4?. I had some concerns about their weight ( just a few kg less than the recommended weight specified by Avon )
specially when I add an aux plus fuel and a couple of passengers on the bench seat at the rear .

Tim,

I know some people on here might say otherwise but I agree that those two engines might be a little too heavy for the 5.4 and what you intend to do with it. A 90 2 stroke would be more suitable and very very fast, and cheaper.

If you can get the Ribtec down to your budget that would probably be the most suitable boat for carrying people round. It just needs an extra seat in the rear.
