i'm not just saying this, i don't ever recall a worse year for weather in my life.

if it isn't raining here it is blowing a gale, usually both.

if it is reasonable the tide is wrong for launching/recovering , for me that normally means a wee blast round loch lomond for a few hours to atleast get out.

myself and Pilotwillie were at LL the other day there, it was absolutely slashing it down as we launched, cleared up for a beauty of a late afternoon-night though. tides meant not fun in the west coast though :-(

it isn't about getting days out on the boat for me this year, it is finding a few hours now/then for gaps in the crap weather.

i have just looked at the forecast for the next 10 days and it is raining every day from 3mm to 21mm expected, winds getting up into the 40mph range during that time too.....summer.....summer my ar$e

it better be a mild winter to make up for this crap summer....harumph.

cheers

Hasn't been a great season for us either poor weather and engine problem over Easter, bad May BH, and the start of summer hols 2days of solid rain and blowing a Gale tomorrow as well.
Still had a good run out yesterday although the seas wee building, and we do have a solid roof over our heads unlike Nasher.
Fair play to the Gurnard great attitude (and season)

Great tale Gurnard. Good to see kids hooked on the great outdoors.

Here's the Bullers of Buchan on the NE coast today. Started well, but chop got up in the afternoon. Wondering what the pink stuff is around the boat. It's jellyfish. It was like pea-soup.

Summer is poor, can't agree more.

It's why we love it!!......
Behind the white yacht in the last pic, is what we call 'Pine Point'. One of Mrs M's favourite picnic spots.

This is the forecast for ballachulish we woke up to this morning time to head south I think been a pretty dire 2 weeks cruising round the west coast after a reasonable start with a non stop run from largs to gigha it's been hiding from wind & rain ever since

My summers been great so far:

Did have a couple of rough days:

Local marina is nice:

Its cheaper to keep my boat in the Med than drystacked on the south coast. I can fly out if the weather looks nice for the same price as towing/launching it from where I live in the UK.

Also when I do go out there I can use it all day and all night.

I have missed having one here a couple of times, but only for a moment. Then I book a sleazy jet flight for a long weekend to make up for it.

I can recommend it
