Sub T

Chanel Watch is correct regarding USCG and number of passengers. If you keep the number under 6, life is easy. If you go over, you need a USCG Sub Chapter T boat. There are only a couple of companies in the US that can build them. They tend to be expensive as they have to be built to a bunch of silly codes including special resin, etc. Don't think of buying a non-US boat and trying to get it pass unless you are capable of basically re-building the whole thing.
