You can only edit upto 15 mins of posting, after that it’s fixed. Always has been. You wouldn’t want to re-write history would you[emoji6]?

Can you point me to that? I’ve just skimmed the community rules and don’t see it - but if there is something needs correcting let me know.

The situation is, and always has been as described above - there is a time limit on edits. If there is something you want amended an admin can do it - please use the report post so we can find the exact post easily. We won’t edit history though - but eg. If a date of a for an event changes etc we are happy to amend posts. We may also remove whole threads where everyone in the thread agrees to it.

Look in the bottom left of the pages.
In the box titled 'Posting Rules; it says
You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may post attachments
You may edit your posts

Doesn't say anything there about time limits.

Ah, thanks. I’m not sure that is something we have any control over.

I made some posts in a thread recently and the thread has now disappeared. I can't remember the thread title but I think it was in the Electrics and Electronics section and it was a discussion on the use of VHF. My posts contained what I thought was useful information regarding VHF channel usage in Southampton.
I certainly haven't been asked if I agreed to the removal of the thread.
My posts in that thread have also disappeared from my posting history.

Thanks for highlighting that. I’ve found the thread and it is indeed marked as “removed from public”. I’m checking with the rest of the admin team if there was a reason - or clumsy thumbs in the app (possibly mine) removing some spam.

UPDATE: thread reinstated,
http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=81700 sorry if the whole thread got pulled rather than an individual post.

UPDATE: thread reinstated,
RIB.net Radio Channel (Solent - but can work anywhere) - RIBnet Forums sorry if the whole thread got pulled rather than an individual post.
Thanks glad it was nothing I said. Unfortunately a couple of attachments I'd made have also disappeared so two of my posts don't make sense. Perhaps you can just remove them? 07.38 and 10.52. It won't detract from the sense of the thread.

I’ll take a look on my laptop in the morning - I might be able to get them back.

If we delete posts intentionally we usually tell you why!

If editing has to be done within 15 mins, what happens if you decide to remove a thread ( you've started).

You have to speak nicely to an admin.
