I would have to agree with the above. New lower legs as a minimum.

Put it this way my Dadís mate got a masser delivered and the dealer dropped it off the trailer caved in the drivers door. Dealer said no probs Sir shall get that repaired. Dadís mate demanded a new door and a courtesy car. Which I then crashed. Dadís mate said that will teach them. hehehehe

Any way new legs, would be my response but as codders said I would get an full check that nothing else has taken a blow.

Aye and then send them the bill for the inspection once the dust has settled, because a full check by a bona fide engineer could be 3 to 400 quid IMO

If they are still snagging, then I think you could take the view that the handover was not completed yet...the accident happened while in the hands of the dealer....so you want new engines not repaired ones it's what you've nearly paid for ?

Aye - new Lower Units, plus a written guarantee that any other damage which may be attributed to this impact now or in the future (say next 12 mths) is fixed FOC, or a survey saying no other damage caused with a warranty from the surveyor.

That presumably puts it in insurance claim territory in which case the insurer would probably prefer to fit new engines. Or I suppose the dealer might fit new engines repair these and resell as "seconds".

A mate of mine could weld a couple of bits of ally on for you and Mollers can work wonders with half a can of Ford Diamond White.

That would be my stance. You've not paid for the finished item so make sure you pay for two new engines - surely the dealer would be covered by their insurance.

You are in a very strong position as you still have 7K to pay. Definately push for new engines.

Get the boat checked very carefully by a marine survey engineer, you can always sub the cost from what you owe.

Good luck

i agree with JS. get an independent engineer to check everything over carefully just in case there's some unseen damage to the gearbox for instance. if you get the all clear then a repair or replacement legs might be acceptable. Sorry to hear what happened, i went through the same thing some years ago. Ended up selling the boat
