Thanks for the PM, I don't know the company but I've given them a call and they are going to contact you.

I wish you all the best in getting this resolved.

Best regards Alex

Google a bailiff company near your supplier explain your situation cost is minimal as they take on the debt you get your Money Back he pays the bailiff costs.
They will ask him to pay up if not goods to the value of, can get very expensive for your supplier because they take until debt sorted.

Alex, just got an email saying he is on holidays with limited communication.

I tired calling within a minute of receiving the email but it rang out so I left a message, also sent a text and also responded to the email.

Will keep you posted.

This all seems very odd, especially if they post on here from time to time.

Can you be more specific with the location as more members may be able to help then by visting the business.

Local police won't be remotely interested in this - small scale fraud (and I'm not suggesting this case is even fraud!) is all handled by action fraud (City of London police) now. I was victim of a bigger scam last year. They're still haven't got round to investigating

I would continue to chase them. It could well be a slightly disorganised small business who's made a genuine cockup. I've certainly been there in the past.

Since they presumably already know you have posted this on here I would suggest in the short term naming and shaming won't be particularly helpful.

At the moment I plan to wait just a little more as Whisper has made contact, as has Biffer.

Surely the holiday must end soon. Although this is the second holiday this month.

He could be disorganised, I really hope so.

might be the best way to go if whisper & biffer have kindly offered their help giving him the benefit of doubt might be he has an internal staff problem that he is trying to sort and the holiday is a tactic for more time to sort maybe with the police who knows.

Name and shame, unless you know to avoid the business who's to say he doesn't rip the next rib-netter off.

I may be more trusting, more tolerant and more naïve than the average Rib Netter...

It's summer. People go away during summer. Not impossible the office boy was away and now the boss is etc. Boss may even be away twice -- I've covered 6 of the last 8 weeks of a colleague who was away and on call.

He has sent an email. You can send emails anywhere in the world. You don't need mobile signal. Your wife on holiday with you doesn't need to know you are working etc.

It needs sorting. Sorting in public rarely sorts stuff. Threats often result in people not going the extra mile to sort it.

Sure at some stage naming and shaming is appropriate. Schools will be back everywhere in UK by 7 September - normality will return.

In the meantime for those keen to protect themselves -- don't send 'cash' as payment for goods...
