Im sure some lunatic will post that they have had a 70+ on one
However i've used them with 25 - 40hp over the years and id say it depends on what you want to do with it.

Safety cover for a Yacht Club - 25 hp is enough.
Waterski/Dive 40/50hp (bung up hull too if your waterskiiing)

50hp should do it!
I've got a Yam 55 on mine and it goes nicely.

I Guess the Chrysler 75 skier will be too big... !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) LOL

What you really want on there is a Yam 50. 3 cylinder with power trim. Either that or the equivalent Merc or Mariner with power trim. Nothing else will be close-and having power trim makes a massive difference to the boat. That's assuming you want a really mad fun boat.

Sell an engine and buy a Yam or a Merc

well , the Evinrude 50 now has PTT but is only two pots, the force is also PTT and two pots, where as the Electrolux penta is a 3 cyl ultra light weight racing engine, or as you say , sell em all and get a yam 50 3 pot,, tough choices

we had a 50hp yam on ours. waterskied, wakeboarded etc etc. Never needed to block the hull holes - it just got up and went.
