Otherwise, flip flops work well when it's hot, wetsuit booties with soles, not neoprene bottoms, jetski boots. Sailing boots for foul weather use.
we can't all afford to buy brand Name "Rock Booties" or Anns Cottage sneakers

Tiny Tim sighed....if only that mean Mr Scrooge would let his dad have that payrise, he would be able to afford the £35.00 those Typhoon Rock Boots cost, instead he realised he would have to wear the rough pine wood sandles he always went boating in, another season of foot splinters, it was enough to make him give up ribbing !

Yamaha neoprene power boots for me. Bargain at Pacer Marine (online), you can pay over £40 for them elsewhere. I wear them with Sealskin socks. Nice and comfy and does not matter if you get wet - still comfy. Good grip on deck

For summer use I've moved away from Crocs - they wear really quickly and offer very little grip, but they are comfortable and float.

I now have a pair of Merrill trekking sandals with covered toe (cheaper than Crocs too), which offer good grip when launching / recovering.

Sailing Wellies for when it's colder.

Cheers guys, think I have a better idea what I'm looking for now.

Pair of jetski boots I reckon and a pair of sailing wellies for winter.

Am I the only one to wear ' boat/ deck' shoes ? I have a couple of pairs depending on if I am stepping off a pontoon, walking off a beach or trailer launching - of course only for summer days out . Crocs ? why look 'cool' in RIB then let yourself down with those stuck on your feet? I've nearly had to distance myself from our resident SR pilot due to those things

I found sailing wellies in winter let my feet get cold - so the Henri Lloyd / Dubarry type leather/gortex boots keep me warm and dry in winter .

I like the look of some of those Henry Lloyd ones..they look proper warm...not so keen on the price though Probably worth it...maybe not a purchase in the same month as buying the boat though!

I doubt you'll need the wellies too. In theory wellies would let you keep your feet totally dry - in practice I rarely find that happens!

You can wear sailing wellies if they have the correct grip on the bottom, you just need a really good pair of thermal socks, Musto do some that were great for me before I bought a pair of gortex boots.
