What length was spirit of Cardiff ?

Alan P, I still havnt got to the bottom of What length Spirit of Cardiff was when you crossed the Atlantic ? I believe You say in your book and web site that it is 33ft or 10 mts yet on the web site promoting your round the world record attempt it is described as 32 ft long. See

http://www.xtreme.org.nz/team_frame.html or

http://www.spirit-of-cardiff.com/project/boat.htm when she is 33ft long.

Did the authority that veryified your Atlantic record time for the crossing also verifie the actual length of spirit at the same time ?

Sorry to be so picky but I am interested in the actual length of Spirit ? As there seems to be a little confusion .

Please can you clear this up for me.

If you're in Portsmouth on August 8th you can bring a tape measure and check it yourself!

Given the choice between the oficial Spirit of Cardiff site, and a third party site about a different project, which would you expect to have the correct details? The figures on the Extreme Global Challenge site seem to be a bit confused as the smallest boat that Alan has crossed the Atlantic in was just 24ft (not 32 or 33)

Are you planning to set any records in your 32'5" RIB by any chance?

John

I think the other site used a conversion from meters and the rounding wasnt quite right.

Ha Ha JK, Ill leave all that bumpy gutsy cold stuff to the Experianced Adventurous and wish then all a Safe trip.

I like my kip and comfort for all that sort of stuff for the moment.

But thanks for the vote of confidence.

Depsol, I might bob over to the Isle of Man when alan gets back for a gander with mi 12 inch plastic ruler, unless Alan answers the question before hand,as his word will be the definitive on this subject for me.

Why is it so important? What’s a couple of inches either way?

If I knew where my plans were that Alan sent me, I could tell you. Sadly they're in my room somewhere, so god knows when they'll turn up.
