RESULT!

Well, we can relax now...

...and it was a cheap lesson at £50. I learnt mine after 500 miles, 4 meals and a B&B driving to view a pair of crap ribs. More like £150! Good luck with the RIB you settle on!

hi goodhard

glad to hear you got most of your money back...

so what is the norm when buying a secound hand boat from dealers/brokers ?.

after being stung by a car dealer years ago i would only be happy to pay anything when im happy with the purchase.

I learnt an expensive lesson with my first rib, also off a dealer!
I see your in Southampton, you can't go wrong with ribshop lots of other companies could learn alot from their customer service. Your best off giving Kieron a ring.
Alternatively if your set on buying from a broker, ribsforsale.com (riva on here) has a large number of boats in stock, talking to either of the above would give you some decent info anyway.

Thanks for the Kind words Alex.

All we require is a £50.00 deposit to book a sea trial and even that is refundable if the boat is not what is advertised.

Just to clarify. Is the £50 for your time and fuel spent trialing the boat for the perspective customer? What would happen if the customer didn't like the ride or other qualities of the boat, but was as advertised. Would he lose his "deposit"?

The £50.00 deposit is just to cover our costs of launch recovery and some fuel so is not refundable. However if we said the boat was good in the rough and it wasn’t or something similar then we would refund no questions asked.
