What 7 - 8m RIB? Advice needed!
I'm looking for a RIB between 7 - 8m for pleasure use - Has to be with (either) an inboard diesel -or- twin outboards and a budget of up to £35k... No older than 3 to 4 years old and preferably with less than about 100-150 engine hrs max. I've only been in the market for a smaller rib before so i'm not sure of whats bigger and better! Am now looking in a part share with someone - There is a coastline 7.5 around at the moment - what are these like? also, Marlin ribs don't get mentioned very often on here i've noticed, and they seem pretty decent, anyone any experience of these? Don't need a trailer as it will be dry stacked.
Advice?! Please!

Coastlines are well made boats
for that kinda money i would think you could get Shakespear with a couple of ETECS Brand new. The Shakeys are superbly built and if you hetit toobed by tilley or Eurocraft or Henshaws then you;ll have a bliding boat. Shakespear make the hulls for Revenger and the quality ids high.

Also Benc has a beutiful Tornado 7.5 with two nearly new HPDI 140's which is well within your Budget

My advice is buy a 5 metre and own it by yourself! Boat shares are a nightmare and invariably ruin good friendships! I'm sure there are exceptions but in my experience thats the general rule!

depends who it's with! It's also got to be something that is capable (size important!) as it might be used for frequent travel across the solent to the i.o.w hence reliabilty of good diesel or twin o/b's!

Bit risky in a 7-8 m with twins, You'd be better off on the Red Funnel wearing a dry suit.

whenever the right rib comes along really - The share is with my father who is selling his Beneteau 10.80 - my ribeye is on boats and outboards but things are sticking in the boat market i feel at the moment - still the show is coming up so it might sell around then. - if anyone wants probably the best spec'd/best condition ribeye wavecross they should know where to come!

By the end of the year I may want to put my current demo rib up for sale. It is a Parker 750RS with CMD 320 + Bravo 1 drive. You could have a test ride but not sooner then the end of Sept if interested

Hi Chris, How handy are you?? You can save alot of cash with a new RIB if you just buy the basic outfit and engine and fit it all yourself. Not all companies do this though, I know Osprey offer this and they are fairly cheap as well. Might be worth looking at if you fancy it?

sounds nice- have any pics? we are in no rush to buy as it's near the end of so called season anyway, but would if the right boat showed up... We will be at the boatshow on the 15th, will there be any Parkers there? - hoping to try appropriate Ribs out...

we don't do the SBS only Ribex and this year we were also at Seawork
