I'm guessing its these ones he's referring to: Loche Linnhe Lodges, Kentallen, Argyll next to the Holly Tree Hotel and about 15 minutes north of Port Appin. I've stayed there (under previous owners) so PM me if you want feedback etc. Like everywhere it has pros and cons so it depends what you are looking for.

You could stay at Portavadie Marina, they have different types of accommodation and a bar!!!! If you are looking for accommodation in the area check this out Holidays Argyll - holiday homes in Tighnabruaich, Argyll, Scotland: self-catering, self catering accommodation, rental.
I could sort you out a mooring in Tighnabruaich/Kames.Though the Kames Hotel has loads and a great bar and food!!Its a brilliant part of the world for ribbing as you can nearly always find somewhere sheltered to launch.

We stayed here a couple of years ago. Very nice. The owner wasn't too keen on having the boat on-site due to size of boat/trailer and lack of turning area which was fair enough. At the bottom of the road is a boat yard that has a good slip which is available all states of the tide & a pontoon, this is into Loch Feochan which is a glorious spot & offers good shelter & easy launching. It's 15 minutes to Oban by boat, we used to take the boat round to Oban to do the shopping, I'd drop the missus off by the harbour, she'd nip into the shops & I'd pootle about in the bay
The boat yard charged us £35 for the week to leave the boat in their compound & use the slip as we needed, bargain!!. The cabins were spot on, clean, comfortable & well equipped. The only problem was the MIDGES But it was an exceptionally wet warm spring (we went at spring bank holiday) Apart from that, spot on.

Hadd, think you need to be more specific.

7 people.
Close to water(how close, see your boat from the house, walking distance or 15 mins in the car)
Budget and or quality.
Oban-ish. How close though, e.g. in terms of cruising ground oban and Crinan are similar, but roughly an hour drive away.
Do you want rural isolation, a pub within walking distance or a selection of places to eat out, get takeaway etc.
Do all 7 want to be in the same house or is two lodges ok/better.
Are there any other activities needing accommodated.
What is the dreadful weather plan...

Those are the sort of questions we know the answer to for our own groups, but each is different.

Do you mean from a earlier post on this thread it could be I don't know the chap with the hotel it's some lads of a land rover forum that has mentioned it to us.
And regards the lodges they are the ones I have seen when been on holls up there but we have a tintent
There might be some caravans at Benderloch just past Connel and you can launch there as well
