I will, if you had been there I could have avoided the wait for the coast guard and the embarrassment :-)

Sorry to here of your problems, I very nearly went out from Knott End myself, but wimped out at the thought of cleaning the salt off and flushing the engine at below zero temperatures.

If your ever stuck again (which you wont) try contacting Fleetwood dock on 12 if it's a couple of hours either side of high tide. There's always someone going in or coming out or just hanging around moaning about the price increase (namely me dad who lives on there ).

Is there tap at knott end? Always wondered but didn't want to sound cheeky at the cafe or start running hosepipes into the public bog

no public tap at knott end. The coastguard station has their own wash off point which is often left on for yotties to wash their boots off after going out to the moorings but not for boat flushing. In this weather no one will thank you for leaving a puddle of freshwater to freeze on the car park

Wouldn't dream of doing a health and safety act like that All though some of the bus drives deserve it Just need a supply for a water trough that came with the boat. Just fitted it with wheels and removable higher walls.

I live reasonably locally so I wash off and flush the engine when I get home, as Wavelength says you won't be very popular turning the car park into an ice rink.

Just talking about flushing the engine not the trailer and the used water would have gone into the sea anyway unless it was fouled. Anyway, no tap no worries.

Hi all,

I'm hoping to strip the engine down this weekend, (if the weather warms up above -5) I've taken the serial number off the engine, and searched numerous sites in an effort to get a year so I can buy the right manual.

Its looking to me like its 1986ish, (no wonder its reached end of life) can anyone help or confirm for me?

Its a mariner 75hp serial no is 9483086
