Water/Fuel separator for small outboard?

Hi all.

I am in the market for a new Suzuki DF20. In the process of getting all the other bits in order and the next item on the loooong list is a good quality water/fuel separator.

I am lead to believe it's a vital piece of equipment and any preventive measure to stop dirty fuel getting into the system is a good one.

So what water/fuel separator would be best for a DF20? I will be mounting it permanently inside a hatch next to the fuel tank.

Also what's the best location, before or after the primer bulb. I was thinking after the bulb?

I know Suzuki have one which will obviously be suitable but seems rather expensive.

Chris I found the cheapest one a Yamaha from Ron hale marine not cheap at £46 at the time.
I fitted mine before the separator only reason lot of air in the separator to draw fuel better pushing than pulling OMO but I don't think it matters if it works.
And agree prevention better than cure

Primer bulb should be between the separator and the engine.

now i might be wrong here as i havent looked into it but a bulb will push fuel better than pull it, reason because you rely on the return of the rubber on the bulb to pull the fuel but when you squeze the the bulb you have more pressure with your hand and assuming the non return valve is in good shape.

if you have an empty line in my case 3 m long pulling fuel that length plus all the fuel the filter needs is a lot to ask where as nearer to the tank less to pull through.
all my opinion based on the mechanics of it plus as the bulb gets older and weeker more difficult to prime.
[i detach my fuel line at the tank and run dry when storing]
