Water coming in - easy fix?

My SIB is leaking relatively small amounts of water at the bottom of the transom on both sides - see pictures attached.

I've a feeling giving the gap between the hypalon and the wood a good clean and dry and then slapping in some type of sealant would work, but after some advice about what type to use and tips on prep etc.

Any help appreciated.
