volunteering to work in a rib tubing workshop/manafacturers

Hello, My name is Alex and I am a member of the Maritime Volunteer Service in London.

I would very like to volunteer my sevices free of charge for around one week a month, to work in a rib tubing workshop or rib manafacturers or company.

I would realy like to learn about ribs and learn how to make or fix and retube them.

I am a good worker and willing to learn. I am willing to travel out of london to southampton, portsmouth, cornwall or anywere realy, where there might be a volunteer position, as long as i can book an apex fare on the railways a few weeks in advance.

I am willing to push a broom around, make the tea and clean up the ribs before the fixing begins,

and hopefully gain some experience and learn, so I can maintain and keep up the maintanance on our fleet of ribs in the maritime volunteer service.

Perhaps someone using this forum knows of a workshop or manafacturers that would allow me to volunteer and gain some work experience.

Perhaps there is a company or workshop that would like an apprentice helping out with things.

If anyone can help or has any ideas as how to learn about rib tubes I would greatly appriciate it.

Thanks and all the best.

Alex.
