Viper or Vipermax

I had decided to by a 2004 mod Vipermax 6.5,but it turns out to be a Viper 6.25.So my question is after reading only good reviews about the Vipermax is the Viper 6.25 handling differently? Please help me to decide if i shall find a Vipermax or go for the Viper. The boat shall only be driving for fun by me after i have parked the cabin cruiser and the family.

There is differences in the hulls, the Viper Max is a faster hull and tubes are fitted higher than on the Viper, i would also say that the Viper Max is a dryer boat to drive.
The Viper Max 6,5m is 9cm wider than the 6,25m, doesnt sound much but it gives pretty much extra space in boat.

I think you will be very happy with either so chose one that has the right seats, length and engine for you. Loved my Viper too

before you buy,

check out the serial number of the boat because it looks older than 2004 and if the guy got it wrong/lied about the model type then it might also be an older boat.
give Kris at brugge marine a call and see if the hull number and any records match up.

the rear seat looks a bit odd from the pic and the tubes are different at the back than what personally i might have expected. check if the boat is the original spec that was sold

always pays to do a bit of homework on this things

The tubes looks strange on the pic but they are the same as always, seen other pics on adverts in Norway.
The rear seat, console and jockey are not from Osprey.
Just check the last 2 digits on the serial number and you know wich year its from.
The pics in the advert i have seen are not very good so its hard to say more about the boat.

isnt the console the ranger console?, just seen the bigger pic come up and it looks a bit different to the ranger console

the tubes at the rear have handles like many ospreys on the continent but seem to be very rounded at the back which gave the impression they were quite different from normal

Agree that the tubes look strange, i think the pic lies a little.
Its a little similiar to the Ranger but the Ranger doesnt have a bench in the front and there is better space for the legs.
Here is 2 pics of the Ranger.

Patos, I saw the ad for the same boat. I immediately thought it was a bargain at 149k NOK. That's 12'200 GBP for you UK guys. And it's a 2004. Anybody knows the price of a new one in Norway is?

Sounds like a cheap price with that engine, but still remember its not Osprey consoles, seatings etc, that will take the price down.

What's the cable going over the tube at the stern? if it's shore power it's the first time I've seen it on a rib.

It is an Osprey, or a good copy. The anchor locker, transom boxes and A Frame all look right.

The hull looks like an Osprey (or a very good copy, hard to say on the pic) but all the rest is not Osprey , i dont even think the A-frame is an Osprey, its similiar but not identical.

Without printing the pic off, walking out in the drive and un-covering mine I can't check. The frame looks the same though. You could be right.

Its very similiar but the part (se attached pic) is not really the same as on the original, offcourse it can be a one off A-frame from Osprey.

Ha ha, didnt mean the fittings on the plate, its how the pipes are bended from the vertical pipes to the horizontal.
