Vendee RIBS

Take a look at the Vendee yacht returning with the ribs. They all have bow cushions I presume to stop damaging the yachts that have been in the Southern Ocean!!

Real shame the UK was missed out

the simple reason for the pads is the ribs rubber fenders damage the two pack paint on the yachts! They often use the nose of the rib to manover the 60's

What is interesting is the fleet of identical zodiacs lent to the race 80+ boats

The're all for sale once the last competitor has crossed the line at 33k€ each.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to get my boat out to meet Steve White when he gets in. He's done a fantastic race. Have a look at the website for those that are interested : http://www.vendeeglobe.org

The Uk isnt missed out - by the Open 60's

Last year in May the Artemis Transat left for Boston from Plymouth

Every Year the Artemis Challenge races round the Isle of Wight during Cowes Week.

This Year the 60's are racing round Britain in June but the race starts in Calais

The boats will also race from Barcelona to the Uk for a stop over, then on the 27sept race from the UK to Brest

Add to this Open 60's taking part in the Fastnet and I think you can say we arnt missed out!
