Nice boat!

Looks like it may have some sort of shock mitigation seating on there !

Now what do you know about the geneology of Vector

If you think the boat might handle well, then check out the trailer!, with a camber like that on the wheels you can take roundabouts at 70mph

So...what's the story behind that one then

Reckon it should be "osprey and vector O.A." then? (trying to keep a little quiet till finished)

Would you like to produce a little piece about vector and it's relationship with osprey?

You need to get hold of either Pete Kidd or Damian Bloor for the definitive story.

Seems a fairly important bloke: designing warships for the Thai Navy would surely indicate someone fairly important; would you reckon he'd be up for giving a little email interview?

And Pete Kidd also, I doubt he'd be interested?

damien and pete owned the company and shared design work i think . the rib in question is a Vector XR24 which vector started to manufacture around 1992 ,the vagabond had a tube all round rather than a hard nose and was the forrunner of the ribeye 725 possibly .

I own one of these ribs (4yrs+) I had it surveyed by a very well known RIB journalist. (friend) He knows Peter Kidd (Malaysia is his last known location, and yes he does that kind of work out there).

Vector Mirage bloody strong RIB, made well, goes like stink. Good sea boat. I took mine from Portsmouth to Torquay and back this year (one of many journeys) - no problems for the boat, occupants where a little rough (it was a stag weekend).

Mine has 200L integrated fuel tank, Water Ballast (noes tank), Came originally with Mariner 200HP V6, now fitted Evinrude 225 HO (probably a bit over the top). Before going bust Vector had strong off shore sales in the Canary Islands, the boats were renowned for speed, sea handling and build quality - hence their rather dodgy use out there on runs to Africa and back.

I believe Ribeye 7.85 uses the same hull mould, Osprey and another company also use it or have rights to it, I don't believe they have built many, I did speak to them earlier in the year (Milton Keynes based from memory) Certainly the similarity is uncanny underneath.

Definitely a proven design, Hope that helps.
