www.v-type.com is their web site if thats any use. they make some pretty pricy ribs.

Looking at the photo you posted I would say it's a copy of a Mark Pascoe Sportrib SR8, take a look at www.sportrib.com and buy the real thing.

Wrong Mr Diggler, this boat was designed and built by Dave Farmer and is a totally different animal to the Mark Pascoe range and caters for a different market altogether. I would recommend anyone to go and sample the build quality of this superb rib.

Oops, silly old me, apart from the radar arch, side consules, teak bathing platform and just the overall style and look of the thing, it's a completley different animal.

Oh well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

must admit i have to disagree dirk, i think marc pascoe caters for the racing pedigree and the sr8 has the hull to prove it, a very different market to v type. They are aimed at the superyacht tenders and i believe most of their sales are in the med etc... you only have to look at their other designs to see they have a varied range although all follow the same design concept. But then obviously most other superyacht tenders also have familiaritys(its a big market which we in little ol britain see very little of).

I think its time some fresh designs were injected into the rib market and they should be welcomed over traditional designs, i mean on a typical summers day in the solent i will probably see 4 or 5 yellow ribs and atleast that again in orange, they will probably all be made by different manufacturers who must have copied each other as most will have stainless radar arches aft, with jockey seats, a centre console and they all seem to copy each other by puting tubes on their ribs too!!

There was a review in Rib International some months ago... just checked, June 2003.

Hmm, different market eh, still doesn't alter the fact that the boat is "very" similar to what was the SR8 sterndrive model, even the price is similar.

And talking of different markets, perhaps you should take a look at the Sportrib website, it seems they build superyacht tenders as well.

I guess we shall just have to agree to disagree!

However, I certainly agree that what is desperately needed are fresh designs, but this would also need fresh thinking in what is very much a "stereotype" buyer, ie the out in any weather, must be able to handle a force 7 etc etc.

have, wot sort of performance, cant see it on sport rib web site
or i'am not looking in the right place
