US Console Dealer

Have had this conversation with a few rib owners from across the states, and have had a difficult time finding a jockey/console combination anywhere. I have been quoted $2900 usd for a single jockey/console by a big-time east coast rib builder, but thats half what I paid for my avon searider (5.4m with 115 mariner and trailer). Currently I have what's called a 'bowrider' console over here; two side by side bucket seats with a dashboard and windscreen. Id like to remove this and drop in a single or double jockey setup to make more use of the forward deck area etc...

anyone have any leads? maybe someone in the states may have a contact?

thanks

ag

I'd guess you contacted Ribcraft USA? That's a tough item to source here, I haven't found one, as I'd be tempted to replace the OE console on my Searider, if I could find something I like better.

Now that I think of it, I know of a searider 5.4 that had the original console removed. I'll see if I can track it down. Might be in Florida, or may well have been trashed...

sure did. Nice enough people, great looking boats, but i can't justify that, to be honest. I am currently looking for a small console off a skiff of somesort, maybe refurb an old one.

Do it yourself

Also might be worth checking out West Marine (if you are pretty handy.)
You could take one of their steering consoles(which is the trickier part to make ) and make up the pod seat yourself. A little marine- ply and fibreglass and you could attach a seat to the console.
Do a search in West marine for model #'s 3704020, 3704038, 386799, 419665.
They have consoles from $180.00.

Think it was boatster on ribnet who made his own jockey seat ,so do a search and may give you some ideas;

In looking, this was about all I found. UK co., but as I said, the field seems to be pretty limited:

believe me, ive thought about it. We built a very HEAVY amatuerish console for ourt 5.4 searider... dropped a 24 ga tank underneath, hooked up an elect fuel pump, and away we go. Everything works great. We next bolted down a single pedestal with a bucket seat. Thing is pretty nasty looking, but everything is squared away and somewhat tidy. I think this winter will be a good time to refit some of the kit. Namely the console and a lot of the wiring.

I'll post some pics to see what you guys think.
