upgrading fuel filter

I have a canister type of fuel filter system. I am keen to change it to a rakor so I can see if there is water in the fuel. I am wondering If I can use the existing top( metal bit that the petrol flows into and out of) and connect a rakor system to the base i.e. where the canister is. Please see photo of existing fuel filter system.

Regards

You would hope so but unfortunately not. The assembly of a glass / Perspex (viewing) filter is quite different. Where yours is situated I assume is quite a wet area. You need to choose the right unit that does not seize up / deteriorate rapidly.

This would be a good unit for you - cheaper than Racor and universal replacements (many manufacturers will fit).Check eBay.
