Superb footage

I'm sure that Dhf on here will be very interested in seeing this as he is looking at buying a drone

Yer right there fella, that was FANTASTIC! , I'd like to know how much practice, how long it took the rc controller dude to learn how to control flight so well, and does he use one of those Fatsharks for controlling at distance, and it would be nice to know what camera stabalising gimble he uses.
Regards
Dhf

Thanks guys. I hope to get out on the rib again real soon. Info on the drone from the operator:

"I used a stock Dji Phantom 2 Vision quadcopter. The drone comes ready to fly and record out the box with a decent gimble and 1080p attached camera. It connects to an iPhone or android via wifi for first person view. Only had it over a week with 8 flights under belt. Software/GPS makes it easy for anyone to fly." Link for drone below.

That sure is a refreshing change for a video. Looked like the Quadcopter was faster than the RIB at one point, amazing.

Thanks. That was only our second time out on the water with that copter. More videos to come once we practice following fast moving objects. The copter came complete with everything for $1200 USD and is real easy to fly.

Where did you launch from?

At some point I would like to to tour the bay(s) more than I already have. I usually launch from Horseshoe Cove on the Marin headlands side right under the bridge.

We launch out of Richmond. Horseshoe Cove is real nice. Im fairly new to the water. A little over a year ago it felt like huge feat when I made it to Angel Island with my SIB. Now we are all over the bay and along the coast. Farallon Islands will be the next destination. Now if only we had a decent RIB/SIB following in the USA it would be a bit more fun. I think I have only seen 4 RIBS on the bay this year....and I own two of them =P
