Variable! Some are raced and trashed, others are well looked after.
Structures are normally OK - although there are known "problems" with certain areas. However, these can all be put right.

The most difficult thing to put right in a "raced and trashed" version will be getting the interior to look half decent.
They are often sailed like dinghies with little or no regard paid to the interior.

Have looked at many.

Sigmas sail very well, and are popular racing boats, I believe they a seperate start on the round the island race for the Sigma 32. Watch out for ex training boats as these have had a hard life.

Hey Donuts. Are you a Ring or a Solid nut? Do you have jam squirted into your insides?

Used to race a Sigma 38 locally. Great accomodation and good sailers too. But, as the others have said they used to be the boat of choice for corporate charter before the advent of Jeanneau et al. There are many local Sigmas that are ex charter boats, (quite a few operated out of Shamrock Quay), avoid those, get a privately owned boat without a racing history and it'll probably be a good 'un.

Halmatic are one best built offshore ribs and can be picked quite cheap. We run a pacific 22 with 140hp diesel and arctic 22 with twin 115 outboards both have great performance and excellent sea keeping capabilities.
