Indeed, muguir car wax, chewy recommended it to us and it helps protect the tubes from sun, though v ltd use against weed.

Hi Paul, so have you got any ideas as regards to antifouling the tubes and hull for that matter? my boat is in the water all year round apart from servicing , cleaning etc, my old cat was coppercoted, briliant but looks horible, you didnt really see it on the cat so wasnt a problem, but the rib spends most of its time planing and I think a horible blacky brown on the hull would dredfull, I think I will have to use a white racing antifoul and re do it every year unless any one has a great idea??, the tubes do worry me a bit as I have heard about people using wax, but by the sound of it not very effective for you? canauba is the base product of all the expensive brands, and im thinking I will buy some raw material and make my own paste and tryit on some hypelon??? regards Marky

Wax is good but makes the tubes super slippy, hence it stops some grime sticking. Fine in a big rib where you sit on jockeys, perhaps not on a smaller when people sit on tubes.

Ours is on mooring from April to nov an after 15 years the only way is the ant fowl each year, White Blake's or similar. The rear of our tubes sits in the water and are green by end of season. Ours is yellow tubes, black trim and white hull. We're going for a triangular strip of black ant fowl on the underside of each tube at the rear next year, just where it sits on the water, up to the the strake.

I have only just got it and don't need the anti foul as I keep it out of the water the rib used to belong to Ribochet so he would be the best to ask,it's chipping off a bit now but I think it will be a big job to remove it .

Any car wax should do. It will help keep weed from growing on the bottom of the tubes but you'd have to keep on top of putting it on.
