Tube seam leaking and taking in water

Hope some of you guys can help or advise, just found a seam on one of my tubes peeling back, loosing air and managed to get water inside!!!
Is this a diy repair? What is the best hypalon glue to use and how do I get the water out?
Been having a blast lately!!! Been to the IOM for the TT, and only last week visited Portpatrick, where we encountered Minke whales and plenty of porpoise!! But with time booked off work next week I'd obviously like to get this sorted asap, thanks in advance, Tim.

I've used Polymarine's products on PVC and Hypalon and can recommend.

Key here is to prepare the area, which means cleaning, sanding area to be glued and degreasing. You can mask off area to avoid excess glue marking tubes.

Regards water in tube, then deflate boat, and remove one the inflation valve on that tube to access. Ideally do this on a warm day so that any water evaporates. You can tilt trailer so any water (I'm assuming is a small quantity) runs to the cone end. Use absorbant kitchen roll to remove any remaining moisture.

A warm dry day is perfect for this type of repair. If you have hypalon the same colour, then repair the area where the seam has lifted. Leave for 24 hours then patch over it to strengthen.

Polymarine's have detailed instructions for gluing.

+ 1 poly marine stuff office 88 will be along soon to advise, but since you have very little time you could use tear aid for hypalon[two sorts] as a temp repair its very strong and will get you by until you can sort it properly

thats it and you need the primer cleaner you get instructions for use in the box i bought some PVC glue last week

We at RIBstore.co.uk can probably help you Nordburg2001 with this, but with a few caution notes for the the job. We can ship to Northern Ireland.

First - adhesives are classified as 'hazardous' so unfortunately cannot be sent by post and must be sent by carrier. The next part you have already guessed - shipping over to Northern Ireland from England is relatively expensive compared to most of the the mainland (typically £22 rather than £7) and it is usually 48 hours to Northern Ireland.

Second - just need to check you have Hypalon not PU tubes. Northcraft RIBS can be found with both. The type determines what adhesive and solvent/cleaner you use.

Third - if the tubes are Hypalon then you ideally need a different solvent/cleaner to acetone.

Fourth - If you are taking water into the tube then it is a significant leak - is it only opening up under load from the RIB moving through the water and staying inflated when not moving? It looks like the seam is under the rubbing strake so it may not be the most simple job to stop the leak (water ingress) as there could be two layers to consider here.

Thank for the response guys, given time to reflect I thought it better to leave it to someone experienced to sort out! Seen too many diy patches fail, and with this being in probably one of the worst places, constantly dragging in the water I reckoned it would cause me less pain in the long run! It's in the workshop already, hope to be on the water again before too long!! [emoji108][emoji570][emoji570]
