Could be the glue is bad. Everyone suggests using 2 part glue as it does a permanent job. 1 part is for temporary fix it now deals. Most of what goes into patching tubes is preparation. Good glue helps too. Heres a good thread on the subject:

THere are probably other topics, just do a search in the forum.

Two part is the only way to go if you want a good repair. “Bostic 2402”

I was under the impression that 2402 is actually a one-part glue, with a thinner. i.e. the second part does no kind of activation or anything. Incorrect?

I was told that for those of us on this side of the pond we'd be better off using Shore brand 2 part adhesive due to the shelf life of the stuff. The Shore brand is produced on the West Coast and is fresher than Bostik as its made in the UK and just getting the stuff distributed over here your likely to get glue several months old. Just what I heard though.

Was told by the guys in Leyland that do retubes when I bought some Hypalon & glue that the two part is glue and hardener. The glue on its own will be just as strong but if you need it to go off quicker then use the two together.

Glue and hardener

The curing agent (bostikure 1000) is the hardening agent and is compulsory if you want a good repair. Any one part glue will be susceptible to failure in high temperatures (eg. Summer).
Ensure that you mix the correct amount of hardener and apply 2 coats with about 15 minutes between, also make sure that you do not leave the lid off the hardener as the active agent will evaporate. There is obviously a load of other factors too but we are discussing the glueing here.
The use of a hairdryer to keep the temperature up would'nt go amiss either at this time of year, if you keep the components warm ie the tube and patch as well as the glue you'll stand a better chance.
If you want the best repair use the Bostik, tried and tested technology!

Give me a call if you need any more info 07915081041

Oh and before anyone decides that they disagree with the information i have given please note that this is merely my learned but somewhat humble opinion on the matter. Thankyou.
